THE GIRAFFES

I remember that, in middle school, when we were studying Darwin's theory of evolution and Lamarck's, in my childhood fantasy I had imagined these transformations focusing mainly on the most representative species: the giraffes. I initially thought of them with long necks like zebra's ones. Then, in order to survive, they had tried, over the centuries, to stretch it to be able to eat the leaves of the highest branches. In short, I had mixed the various theories to create my own one, a somewhat "rubbery". Only as an adult, reminding from time to time this thought, I have been able to revise those theories more concretely. And that some giraffes born "by mistake" with longer necks were able to survive better than giraffes with shorter necks because they had reached more food, then genetically handed down their diversity. And I came, all by myself, to this banal conclusion: Evolution is the daughter of Diversity.

BEING DIFFERENT IS BEAUTIFUL, FUCK! Fuck yea ...
